Legend of the Deity.
In the beginning, there were three divine beings that ruled over the universe. They were alone, and without purpose, for the universe was a blank empty place. They desired to create something, but they could not begin to think what to fill the great void with. In agreement, they decided instead to create two beings; one to make imperfect creations, and one to search for the perfect creation. These two brothers were to work together to create a world that would fill the empty void.
However... This unity was not a stable one. Volmaak grew more frustrated with his brother, Yaradan, for making creations that he himself saw as incomplete and poorly made. Despising his lot as the second son, Volmaak struck out against his brother in an attempt to destroy him, but he was brought down by Yaradan's sword, and sealed away in a deep slumber, his essence scattered in the winds of time.
